Nature Photography Meetup

Saturday 01 February
Lister Park - 10am - 2 Hours
Joshua Hart
Join this session for tips on how to use your camera settings to creatively capture nature in a visually interesting way. We will be looking at composition, focus, and colour. Many professional offices and places of business have large prints gracing their wall space of things such as fields of flowers, a butterfly perched on a leaf, and a single dew drop on a rose petal. These beautiful images are all around us in nature. It just takes that special "eye" to not only see it but to capture it in a way that will turn that simple little piece of nature into a beautiful piece of art. We will learn how to use different angles, light and shadows, and settings to make subjects pop.

This was a fabulous session. I speak on behalf of all 4 people that booked onto it. Two were Chinese MA students and the mix of snow, outdoors and Saltaire was a delight. Josh has a wonderful energy, down to earth, nice nature, very knowledgeable and good with explaining and approachable. We had a lovely session connecting with the outdoors, snow, historic setting of Saltaire. Will be booking onto the next one.

Walking the dog by Sutton beck when spotted start of a double rainbow. Took a few snaps with pixel pro phone. Double rainbow stood out more and I tweaked in Photoshop express on the phone. Tried to balance the bow across the image and to include the difference in lighting. Very pleased with the outcome.

It?s awesome during the day but even more magical at night as you can see. I?d recommend a visit here just for the views to anyone. I loved the detail on this lizard. However, the background was very similar to the lizard body colour. In Lightroom I picked a background preset which toned it down somewhat, but not enough. So created a mask and turned down the background even further. A little ?pop? on the lizard skin and I was finished. I hope you like it.
